Day 1
Arrival in the Algarve — Albufeira
Arrival in southern Iberia and transfer to Albufeira on Portugal's Algarve coast, with a stop en route. Albufeira is a lively resort town in the Algarve — the region whose name comes from the Arabic 'al-gharb' (the west). Hotel check-in and time to rest. Overnight in Albufeira.
Day 2
Albufeira: the Algarve coast
After breakfast, discover the Algarve coast — São Rafael, one of its most beautiful beaches, and the Marina de Albufeira. Lunch, then the charming old town of Albufeira with its cobbled lanes, white houses, and the lively Jardim Público square, and a stroll by Praia dos Pescadores (Fishermen's Beach). Overnight in Albufeira.
Day 3
Albufeira to Lisbon, via Silves & Évora
After breakfast, drive to Silves (about 30 minutes), a historic Algarve town and former Andalusian capital — its imposing red sandstone Moorish castle, the old cathedral (a former mosque), and the medieval walls and old town. Continue to Évora (about 2.5 hours), a UNESCO World Heritage city: the Roman Temple (Templo Romano), the striking Capela dos Ossos, and the Sé de Évora cathedral. Lunch, then on to Lisbon (about 1.5 hours), check-in, and overnight.
Day 4
Lisbon: discoveries & old quarters
After breakfast, the historic Belém district and the Torre de Belém, symbol of the age of discoveries, and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument on the Tagus, with a visit to the nearby Queluz Palace. Lunch, then the Alfama — Lisbon's oldest quarter — the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé), and the Baixa with the grand Praça do Comércio, Rua Augusta, and the historic Santa Justa Lift. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 5
Sintra: palaces & gardens
After breakfast, drive to Sintra (about 45 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage town set among green hills and a former favourite of Portuguese kings. Visit the colourful, Romantic Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena) with its panoramic views, and the Quinta da Regaleira with its towers, tunnels, and symbolic gardens. Lunch in Sintra or Lisbon, then return. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 6
Lisbon to Porto
After breakfast, free time or last visits, then drive to Porto (about 3.5 hours). Check-in and overnight in Porto.
Day 7
Porto on the Douro
After breakfast, the Sé do Porto cathedral with its views over the Douro, the riverside Ribeira quarter (UNESCO) with its narrow lanes and colourful houses, and the double-deck Dom Luís I Bridge linking Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia (designed by a disciple of Eiffel). Lunch, then time at the NorteShopping centre. Overnight in Porto.
Day 8
Porto to Cáceres (Spain)
After breakfast, drive to Cáceres in Spain (about 4.5 hours), one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities (UNESCO) near the Portuguese border. Discover the old walls and towers, the Plaza Mayor, the Golfines de Abajo palace, and the Concatedral de Santa María. Lunch, check-in, and overnight in Cáceres.

Departure
After breakfast, transfer for your departure, at the close of the program.
