Itinerary
Day by day.
Day 1
Arrival in Istanbul → İzmit
Arrival and transfer to İzmit, a calm coastal city on the Sea of Marmara that blends nature and history. Check-in and rest.
Day 2
İzmit: Ormanya Nature Park & science
Visit Ormanya Nature Park, one of Türkiye's largest natural parks, with forest walking trails, a wildlife reserve, and botanical gardens; lunch at the park. Visit the Bilim Belim Science Centre, an interactive museum (physics, astronomy, technology) ideal for families. Evening stroll along İzmit's seafront with its local cafés.
Day 3
Sapanca & Kartepe cable car → Eskişehir
Drive to Sapanca, known for its beautiful lake and scenery, and ride the cable car to the Kartepe summit for panoramic lake-and-forest views. Continue to Eskişehir; check-in. Folkloric dinner with Turkish music, then an evening walk in the historic Ottoman Odunpazarı quarter — colourful houses, heritage markets, and art galleries.
Day 4
Sazova Park → Afyonkarahisar
Visit Sazova Park, one of the city's finest gardens, with its fairytale castle, aquarium, science museum, and a small zoo. Depart for Afyonkarahisar, famous for its thermal springs and spas; check-in at a thermal resort.
Day 5
Afyon: thermal wellness & sunset
Enjoy the thermal resort and its therapeutic hot springs (with sauna and massage available). Visit Afyon Castle before sunset — a hilltop fortress over 3,000 years old with sweeping panoramic views. Walk in Emre Lake & Nature Park, a calm lakeside area with tree-lined trails. Return to the resort.
Day 6
Konya: Japanese Garden & Sille village
Drive to Konya, former Seljuk capital, renowned for its Sufi culture and deep history. Visit the authentic Japanese Garden, with wooden bridges, still-water pools, and artfully arranged trees. Later, visit Sille, one of the oldest Byzantine villages, with cobbled streets, old mosques and churches, and traditional cafés.
Day 7
Konya: Mevlana Museum, Butterfly Garden & Sema
Visit the Mevlana (Jalal al-Din Rumi) Museum — his shrine, belongings, and manuscripts, with halls on the history of the Mevlevi Sufi order. Visit Konya's Butterfly Garden, among Europe's largest, with around 40 species in a controlled tropical environment. In the evening, attend a Whirling Dervishes (Sema) performance at the Mevlana cultural centre.
Day 8
Ihlara Valley → Cappadocia
Drive to Ihlara Valley, a walking trail among volcanic rock with cave churches and a small river; lunch in a nearby village. Continue to Cappadocia; check-in. Evening walk in Göreme to take in the town's magical atmosphere; dinner locally.
Day 9
Cappadocia: balloons & underground cities
Early start for those joining the optional sunrise hot-air balloon experience (others can watch the balloons from a viewpoint). Visit the Kaymaklı underground city, one of the world's largest. Visit Uçhisar Castle for stunning views over Cappadocia and its rock passages. Free time in Göreme for traditional cafés and local markets.
Day 10
Departure from Cappadocia
Breakfast, then transfer to the airport; end of our land services.
