Itinerary
Day by day.
Day 1
Arrival in Tashkent
Meet & greet on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Visit Independence Square, the exterior of the Television Tower, and the WWII Memorial and its gardens. Lunch at a renowned plov restaurant with a look at how the dish is prepared. Evening at Tashkent City park, with its illuminations.
Day 2
Tashkent: mountains & modern city
Excursion to the Amirsoy mountain resort in the Tian Shan, with a cable-car ascent over Lake Charvak. Afternoon visit to Magic City — a landmark leisure park blending Uzbek heritage motifs with a dancing musical fountain.
Day 3
Tashkent: heritage & bazaar
Visit the Khast Imam complex and the Othman Quran Museum, home to one of the world's oldest Quran manuscripts. Continue to the lively Chorsu Bazaar under its turquoise dome. Free evening to explore the city.
Day 4
Tashkent to Samarkand
Drive to Samarkand. En route, visit the historic Zangiota cemetery and mausoleum, and the natural rock site known as the Tamerlane's Gates. Arrival and check-in, followed by a floodlit evening visit of the Registan.
Day 5
Samarkand: Timurid jewels
A full day among Samarkand's icons: the Registan ensemble of three madrasas, the great Bibi Khanum Mosque, the Hazrat Khizr Mosque, and the Shah-i-Zinda avenue of mausoleums.
Day 6
Samarkand: history, science & the Eternal City
Visit the Afrasiab Museum on the site of the ancient city, and the 15th-century Ulugh Beg Observatory. Free time at the Siyob Bazaar, Samarkand's largest market. In the evening, visit Boqiy Shahar (the "Eternal City") — a recreated old town that immerses visitors in Uzbek history and traditions — with dinner at its restaurants.
Day 7
Samarkand to Bukhara
Visit the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex near Samarkand. Continue toward Bukhara with a stop at Navoi to see the 11th-century Rabati Malik caravanserai, and a traditional ceramics museum and workshop. Arrival and check-in in Bukhara.
Day 8
Bukhara: the old city
A full day in Bukhara's historic core: the Ark Citadel, the covered Taqi-Sarrafon market, the Kalon (Grand) Mosque beside the famous minaret, the Taqi-Zargaron artisans' bazaar, and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasa. Free evening in the old town.
Day 9
Bukhara to Tashkent (Silk Road train)
Free morning in Bukhara for last visits or shopping, then board the modern Silk Road train to Tashkent (luggage forwarded so the group travels light). Arrival and check-in in Tashkent.
Day 10
Tashkent at leisure
Free time in Tashkent, with the option of a shopping centre visit, before preparing for departure.
Day 11
Departure from Tashkent
Transfer to the airport; end of our land services.
